Bed Bugs

What Are Bed Bugs?

Bed bugs are flat, reddish-brown, oval insect whose diet consists of only blood from people. Because these nocturnal insects are excellent at hiding in cracks, crevices, mattress seams, sheets, furniture, behind baseboards, electrical outlet plates, and picture frames, simply washing your sheets will not remove an infestation. Unlike many insects that have a short life span, bed bugs can live up to a year feeding on their host. Under cool conditions, bed bugs have been able to survive up to a year without a meal, which makes them even more difficult to know you have an infestation and if the infestation was properly treated.
